In-depth Course with Egyptology Books July 20, 2016 – Posted in: Books, News – Tags: ,

We were recently hired to convert several paperback Egyptology books into eBooks and make them for sale on the Apple iBookstore as well as on Amazon and others. The widow of famous Egyptologist, Alan F. Alford, wants his work to continue to be available to people interested in Atlantis, the Great Pyramid at Giza, and Egyptology in general. Converting the Egyptology books was a huge undertaking, requiring over 400+ hours of work due to the amount of pages and images involved. By the time we completed the task at hand, it was though we had a crash course in Egyptology.

In the end, we had processed over 250 images and 543,970 words. To give you an idea, that is roughly 1,159 pages if it were placed into a Word document with your average sized margins and font size. But it was worth it. Our entire team now has a much greater understanding of how ancient people based their beliefs on the movement of the sun and we have a greater knowing of what’s happening in Egypt.

We were happy to take on this project and are happy that the scholarly work of Alford will continue and is not available in eBook format.

If you have a paperback or hardcover book that you would like to make into an eBook to open more sales channels and ways for your readers to consume your book, we’d love to help. Just send us an email at sayhi@distinctpress.com and we’ll be in touch.
